Sheriff's Report, June 19, 2014

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

June 9--8:17 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who was very ill; the patient was carried by Life Flight helicopter to a Vancouver hospital. 10:31 a.m. A highly agitated man was referred from the court clerk to the sheriff's office; he was upset because he couldn't obtain a restraining order against a person who had obtained a restraining order against him. 1:08 p.m. A caller reported a two-foot wide oil slick near the Cathlamet schools' bus barn. 10:46 p.m. A caller asked for a welfare check on children whose mother was supposedly out of the house; an officer learned the woman was there and was being harassed.

June 10--12:37 p.m. A woman reported being harassed. 3:03 p.m. A non-injury traffic collision was reported on Main Street.

June 11--12:23 p.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported finding a 3-4 year-old boy walking around. 10:10 p.m. A caller reported a juvenile had run away from home; a mental health professional was advised.

June 12--10:17 a.m. A caller reported someone was checking doors and windows at the county road shop in Rosburg. 3:44 p.m. Wahkiakum High School reported two students got in a fight while waiting for the school busses to arrive. 5:02 p.m. A caller reported finding a blue bicycle in the Elochoman River while fishing. 5:59 p.m. A Rosedale business reported a man was making a disturbance and being belligerent. 7:41 p.m. A school bus driver reported a motorist had driven through a displayed bus stop sign on Greenwood Road.

June 13--3:17 p.m. An officer arrested a motorist at a traffic stop; the suspect was transferred to Department of Fish and Wildlife custody. 4:25 p.m. A Rosedale woman reported that she had seen a man standing outside her door; she told him to leave, and he told her the lid of her car's trunk was open; she found that several items had been stolen. 5:38 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a woman with abdominal trouble.

June 14--3:27 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported problems with a neighbor's dog; it was gone when an officer arrived.

June 15--8:24 a.m. Dispatchers received a call from four boaters who had run aground in Westport Slough; Clatsop County was advised. 9:27 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an Elochoman Valley woman who was very ill.

June 16--8:33 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported a juvenile had scratched an obscenity in the side of her car; an officer investigated. 11:13 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported a one-car traffic accident; officers, District 4 fire fighters, and the Cathlamet ambulance responded and found a badly damaged car off the road and no one around.
