Saturday pancake feed raising funds for Center

Naselle news

Get ready for an amazing weekend of wondrous activities during the Finnish American Festival, coming up in just a couple of weeks. Mark your calendar for the 25th through the 27th of July, and make your way to Naselle for history, dancing, music and fantastic food. This event is always a crowd pleaser. Check it out, and bring the whole family. There is something for everyone.

If you hurry on by the little orange coffee house – “Mochas and More” on the corner of SR 4 West and US 401 you can purchase a Finn-Am commemorative coffee mug with a drink, while supplies last.

Westend news

At the request of several attendees to the first pancake breakfast held at the Grays River Valley Center at Johnson Park, we will be serving another breakfast this coming Saturday 8-11 a.m. The menu will include all you can eat pancakes, with sausage, cheesy eggs, milk, coffee or tea, and the price will again be $5. Proceeds from the breakfast will help to defray some of the operating costs of the center.

This week’s Free Friday Night Movie at the Grays River Valley Center will be a newly released animated film which follows lead character, Emmett, a completely ordinary LEGO mini-figure who is identified as the most “extraordinary person” and the key to saving the Lego universe. Emmett and his friends go on an epic journey to stop the evil tyrant, Lord Business.

Won’t you join us for an exciting evening, watch the show on our big screen with surround sound and pick up refreshments at the concession stand for reasonable prices. Popcorn, candy and pop are available.

On July 20, the Johnson Park Advisory Board invites the community to our annual Community Picnic/Potluck being held at Johnson Park in Rosburg (the old Rosburg School). Hot dogs, hamburgers and condiments will be provided. You are welcome to bring a salad or dessert to share, a bright smile and fun conversation. This is the perfect opportunity to see all the changes that have been made in the building, play a few games, walk the nature trail and generally enjoy a relaxing afternoon.

Check out Scott’s Country Barn in Rosburg. Hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6:00 p.m., by appointment or by chance. Turn south off SR 4 West at Altoona/Pillar Rock Road and follow the signs. You can also visit them via Facebook. She has some amazing things for sale and most are very unique.

The Rosburg Wednesday Senior Lunch Bunch meets at the Rosburg Hall each week for a home cooked meal prepared and served by Pat Potter and her volunteer crew. Won’t you join them for a pleasant meal with good company?

On Thursdays, senior meals are also served at the above location, and are sponsored by CAP. The meals for both venues are served at noon.
