Bald Eagle Fun Run to record records

The 2014 Bald Eagle Fun Run on July 19 will benefit a record board for the Wahkiakum High School track and field program.

The run will start at 9 a.m. on Cathlamet's Main Street and features events for walkers and runners. There will be 2-mile, 5k and 10k events with gender and age-based divisions.

In the 2-mile and 5k events, there will be age divisions for children 12 years and under, 13-19 years, and 20 years and over for both males and females.

In the 10k event, there will be age divisions for youth 13-19 years and adults 20 years and over for both males and females.

Ribbons will be awarded to the top three participants in each division.

Entry fee is $12; registration begins at 8 a.m. in front of the Cathlamet Pharmacy. Coordinator Mike Riley said all proceeds will go toward the construction of a record board for the WHS track and field program.

The event occurs as Main Street is closed for the Bald Eagle Days Street Fair and vendors are setting up their stalls for the day's festivities.
