What's happening at the Fair?

Fair royalty schedules events

Animal entries are in and it looks like we have good numbers, and yes we have some cows in the cow barn. Soon the Superintendents will be working hard to get the buildings and barns ready as fair is coming fast. We still have some open spaces on the gates; if you are interested in volunteering a couple hours let me know. The T-Building is getting ready to be painted, so it will have a face lift for the fair.

We will have the final clean up day this Saturday From 9 a.m. until noon with a BBQ to follow. Come help get the fair grounds ready for the fair. The State Fair Commissioner will pay us a visit this year. Once again a huge thank you to the Skamokawa Gardens for the flowers; the fair will be beautiful. Also a big thank you to Jeri Pierce for planting the flowers; it’s a huge job.

Last week the Fair Royalty took their trip to the Cowlitz County Fair and went to the "Love and Theft" Concert. Fun was had by all. The young ladies were even on the new radio station. These young ladies are out selling Fair Passes and Fair Raffle Tickets in hopes of becoming the 2014 Wahkiakum County Fair Queen. Several of the young ladies have their own raffles and have been doing fundraisers. All six princesses will hold a car wash on August 9 at the Bank of Pacific from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Princess Abbie Eaton will hold a Lasagna Dinner and Silent Auction at the Grays River Grange on Sunday August 3rd from 2 to 7 p.m.
