Fashing named new CWCOG Executive Director

William (Bill) Fashing has been selected as the next Executive Director of the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments.

Fashing, 53, replaces Scott Patterson who resigned in April to return to Vancouver for family reasons. Fashing comes to the CWCOG after 30 years of service in economic and community development. The last 12 have been served in the public sector and include 3.5 years at the Mid-Columbia Council of Governments in Oregon where he served as Community Development Director. He has been involved in a number of major projects supporting transportation, development of a $20 million events center, and attraction of a minor league baseball team. He began his new job Tuesday.

“It is an honor to be selected to serve as the Executive Director of this organization and to work with the great staff team that is in place,” Fashing said.
