Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

September 8 — 8:34 a.m. A caller reported speeding vehicles in the Skamokawa area. 11:57 a.m. An alarm was activated at the repeater on school grounds in Cathlamet; a deputy investigated and found nothing. 12:43 p.m. A welfare check was requested on a suicidal individual who was driving under the influence of drugs; the person was located in Longview. 4:57 p.m. A Cathlamet resident complained about the theft of cigarettes from her porch. 5:22 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a burglary; window screens had been removed to gain entry and a computer was taken. 9:43 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a dispute with a family member that included an assault and burglary; a deputy investigated.

September 9 — 4:00 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman who had fallen off a motorcycle and separated her shoulder. 4:15 p.m. A five year old boy who was last seen waiting to board a bus after school was reported missing; the child was found with his mother. 5:08 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading west on SR 4 from Cowlitz County. 5:35 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading west on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area.

September 10 — 9:46 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident who was feeling dizzy. 10:07 a.m. A Deep River resident reported that two intoxicated individuals had taken off in a car. 10:53 a.m. A caller reported that a family member was feeling suicidal; an advocate from mental health was contacted. 10:56 a.m. Deputies and the Grays River ambulance responded to the report of a traffic accident in Deep River; injuries were reported and LifeFlight was activated. 11:15 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a Cathlamet resident to the hospital. 1:42 p.m. A Cathlamet business reported that an individual was harassing customers. 4:00 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported malicious mischief. 4:25 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a violation of an order. 4:47 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported a possible phone scam.

September 11 — 9:24 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Cathlamet resident who had fallen and was struggling to breathe. 9:31 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance, District 4 Fire Department and deputies responded to a Puget Island residence when a caller reported that she was unable to wake a family member. 1:50 p.m. Deputies attempted to locate an armed and possibly dangerous individual on Puget Island; a subject was taken into custody. 2:26 p.m. Deputies responded to a felony drug complaint on Puget Island; an individual was taken into custody. 5:01 p.m. Deputies responded to a disturbance on Puget Island. 6:14 p.m. A parent reported that a juvenile was “out of control” and had left the home on foot; deputies attempted to locate the youth who was later seen with friends. 6:33 p.m. A subject was transported to the hospital after a hit and run that had happened two days earlier; a deputy was investigating the incident. 6:40 p.m. The Skamokawa and Cathlamet Fire Departments responded to the report of a brush fire northwest of Skamokawa. 7:26 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle heading westbound on SR 4 near Nassa Point was being driven at excessive speeds and running other people off the road; deputies were unable to locate the vehicle. 8 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported being harassed by an individual; a deputy contacted both parties and advised. 9:00 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that a runaway had shown up at her house; the caller requested that an officer transport the juvenile home.

September 12 — 10:47 a.m. Deputies and mental health were requested at the school in Cathlamet to deal with an “out of control” juvenile. 11:21 a.m. A trespasser was reported at a Cathlamet residence. 1:38 p.m. A Cathlamet business reported that a subject was hanging out in front of their shop, harassing customers and staff. 2:34 p.m. A caller reported that juveniles had been seen smoking marijuana in a Cathlamet park. 9:19 p.m. A caller from a Rosedale business complained about an individual who was refusing to leave; a deputy spoke with the manager. 9:56 p.m. Deputies responded to the report of a one vehicle accident involving a deer on SR 4 in the Alger Creek area. 11:26 p.m. An individual was seen talking to himself and going through garbage at a Rosedale business.

September 13 — 8:55 a.m. A Puget Island resident complained about a pit bull. 11:44 a.m. A caller reported that an individual was yelling at people as they passed him outside a Cathlamet business. 11:57 a.m. A caller reported an injured osprey hopping along SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. 4:47 p.m. A caller reported a disabled vehicle west of Nassa Point on SR 4. 5:11 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an ailing Cathlamet resident. 5:43 p.m. A caller reported that an individual had approached him and was trying to start a fight. 5:56 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an ailing individual on Puget Island. 6:04 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle being driven at high speeds on SR 4 near the summit of KM. 10:04 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that an unwelcome and intoxicated woman was on her property; a deputy responded.

September 14 — 10:18 a.m. A caller reported that two vehicles were passing unsafely on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. 10:41 a.m. A caller reported that a campfire had been burning for two days in the Elochoman Valley area; the Cathlamet and District 4 Fire Departments responded. 12:44 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident with abdominal problems. 5:57 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported an assault; deputies responded. A subject fled the scene but was later taken into custody. 8:59 p.m. A caller reported that an erratically driven vehicle was headed west on SR 4 from Cowlitz County. 9:02 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported seeing someone attempting to take something from her truck; a deputy responded.
