The proprietor of Mochas & More, Laura Ray has started a campaign to thank the local emergency medical technicians and first responders for their dedication to the community by giving each of them a gift certificate for dinner for two at a nice restaurant. She has posted flyers and has donation jars up, with every penny donated going to the local emergency responders. Stop by Mochas & More during business hours, and donate to this good cause.

If you value the Rosburg Hall and all it represents to our community, here’s your chance to help out the Rosburg Community Club. Please join them this afternoon (Thursday) at 2 p.m. for their meeting. They meet every other month on the third Thursday of the month. There are no dues to become a part of this very special group who oversee the activities, the upkeep of the building, maintenance of the Rosburg Cemetery, and give generously to the community. If you have questions please call Barbara Rose or Sonja Kruse.

Coming up on October 4th is the annual Covered Bridge Dinner that is always a huge success. I will have more info on that event in next week’s column.

The Grays River Valley Center at Johnson Park will be holding another annual All Hallows Eve party this year on Halloween. Bring the whole family and enjoy inside trick or treating, a movie and a fun time in general, no matter what the weather.

The Rosburg Wednesday Senior Lunch Bunch meets at the Rosburg Hall each week for a home cooked meal prepared and served by Pat Potter and her volunteer crew. This is a good opportunity for some socializing with a wonderful group of folks, as well as enjoying a delicious meal.

On Thursdays a senior meal is also served at the above location and is sponsored by CAP. Lunch is served at noon for both venues. .

Well, the last of our 10 baby puppies will be going to their new forever homes later this week with our nephew and his wife, here visiting from Yucca Valley, Calif. Rajah will be living with them and Loki will be living with our other nephew not far from them. So pleased that they are taking them.

As an added bonus with this visit from our nephew, Mark and his wife Melissa, they brought two more generations of the Fredrickson family with them. Their son, Mark and his wife Britney and their delightful, smart little 4-year-old son, Ethan are here as well. Everything is new and exciting for this little boy from the desert area in California, and he can’t seem to get enough of country life. What a great way to spend time with some of our family. Thanks kids. We hope to see more of you soon.
