News from Naselle:

Sports calendar for the Naselle Comet teams this week include: Thursday, middle school football at Raymond at 6 p.m .; Friday, football with MM Knight at 7 p.m .; Monday, middle school volleyball at South Bend at 5:45 p.m .; Wednesday, middle school volleyball with Raymond in Naselle at 5:45 p.m .; Thursday, volleyball with Oakville in Naselle at 5:45 p.m., middle school football with Ocosta in Naselle at p.m. Go Comets!!

The Naselle Booster Club meets on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Mochas & More Espresso shop in Naselle is nearing it halfway goal of giving a thank you dinner to all the EMS volunteers who give so much to our community. This is Laura Ray’s idea and so far it is turning out that there are lots of folks who agree that these volunteers deserve our appreciation on a more personal level, with an evening out on us. Way to go Laura.

Congratulations to a lovely young lady that many of us knew when she worked at the Bank of the Pacific, Chanel Wirkkala. Chanel had other aspirations for herself other than being a bank employee and she recently received her diploma from the 428th session of the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commissions Officer Academy. Here’s to a bright and successful future for a very deserving individual.

Come and join us for our third annual Oktoberfest dinner in the Grays River Valley Center at Johnson Park, this Saturday evening. It should be a great time, good food, good music by Wahkiakum Vibes with Jerry Ledtke, and great company. We will be serving saurbraten, sweet and sour cabbage, spaetzle, and home made strudel with beverages. The meal will be served from 5-8 p.m., and tickets may be purchased at the door for $10 each. For advance tickets you can call Trudy Fredrickson at 465-2960 or Steve Ramsay at 465-2731. Hope to see you there.

Meet your candidate choices for the upcoming election. The Grays River Grange #124 will hold a candidate’s night on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Here is your opportunity to ask pertinent questions before you mark your ballot.

Beginning on October 20th the aerobics group will meet three evenings a week in the gym at the Grays River Valley Center at Johnson Park on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 6-7 p.m. For more info please call Jeanne Bramen.

All Hallows Eve will once again be held in the Grays River Valley Center at Johnson Park on October 31st. Inside trick or treating for all the little goblins, and a couple of movies as well in the cafeteria on our big screen for the whole family. Won’t you join us for a fun, free evening?

There will be blood drive on November 5th 1-6 p.m. at the Valley Bible Church. For more information please contact Susan Burkhalter at 465-2264.

The Rosburg Wednesday Senior Lunch Bunch meets at the Rosburg Hall each week for a home cooked meal prepared and served by Pat Potter and her volunteer crew.

On Thursdays a senior meal is also served at the Rosburg Hall and is sponsored by CAP. Lunch is served at noon for both venues.
