M.E. Prever

M.E. “Mike” Prever, of Cathlamet, died November 23, in Longview, at the age of 82.

He was born December 23, 1931, in Floris, Iowa, to Charles and Myrtle (Harris) Prever.

Mike graduated from Fowler High School in Colorado in 1949 and Colorado State University in 1960 as an electrical engineer. He worked for several utility districts, Boeing, and on control systems for missile launch systems in several locations. He attended Fathers House in Longview.

Mike loved gardening with spread sheets, tracking his best plants for future gardens. He was a talented wood craftsman, sharing his gifts with many. He loved the Lord and studied and read the Bible faithfully.

On January 13, 1979, he married his wife, Ginny. She survives him at home on Puget Island. Also surviving are son Mark Prever of Eugene, Ore .; stepdaughters Tammy Nichols and Cindy Ryals, both of McMinnville, Ore .; mother-in-law Maxine Webster of Portland; sisters-in-law Susan Pederson of Hillsboro, Ore., and Jo Cromwell of Tigard, Ore .; brother-in-law Roger Webster of Albuquerque, N. Mex .; grandchildren Nicole, Austin and Brittany Nichols and Kylee Lete; eight great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

A Celebration of Life is pending for some time in January. Memorial contributions are suggested to Community Hospice, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
