The Wahkiakum County Eagle - Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891

Violet (Vi) Jane Centers, of Cathlamet, died November 27, 2014, at home, at the age of 82.

She was born one of 13 children on September 1, 1932 in Grand Rapids, Mich., to Walter and Jane (Fox) Anderson and moved to Washington in 1974.

Vi worked as a CNA at a care center and loved to make pies, crochet and bowl. She enjoyed watching football and was a member of the Fair Board.

She was preceded in death by two children. She is survived by sons Al Essen, Kenny Essen, Bob Kinler and Jim Kinler; daughters Paula Griffith and Terry Goble; brothers Howard Anderson, Don Anderson, John Anderson and Thomas Anderson; many nieces and nephews; 30 grandchildren and 62 great grandchildren.

At her request, there will be no service. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
