The Wahkiakum County Eagle - Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891

Violet Jane “Vi” Centers of Cathlamet passed away at home on November 27, 2014. She was born on September 1, 1932 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, to Walter and Jane Anderson and was one of six children. She moved to Washington in 1974.

She is survived by daughters Terry Goble and Paula Griffith, sons Al Essen, Bob Kinler, Jim Kinler, and Kenny Essen, brothers Howard Anderson, Don Anderson, John Anderson, and Thomas Anderson. She had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceeded in death by son Ray Essen, daughter Sheila McCoy, and brother Larry Anderson.

She was a member of the Wahkiakum Fair Board and she enjoyed making pies, crocheting, bowling, and watching football and baseball. She worked as a caregiver.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
