Geraldine Quigley

Lifelong Cathlamet resident Geraldine “Jerry” Quigley, 86, died on December 17, 2014 at St. John Medical Center in Longview.

She was born in Cathamet on September 8, 1928 to Bert and Violet (Peterman) Witham. In 1946 Jerry graduated from Wahkiakum High School and September 3, 1948 she married Kenneth Quigley, Sr.

Jerry enjoyed homemaking, taking care of her family, raising cucumbers on their farm and commercial fishing on the Columbia River. She loved travel and especially liked cruises. Jerry was a talented seamstress and enjoyed helping her daughter create Horse hoods. She enjoyed playing pinochle with family and friends. Jerry was a member of the Elochoman Grange and the Birthday Club in Cathlamet.

She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Pharr (David), Paula Quigley (Les Ozment), all of Cathlamet, son-in-law Gary Herold of Longview and a sister, DeEtta Funderberg of Wahougal.

In 1986 she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, Sr., and in 1979 by her son Kenneth, Jr. In 2006 her daughter Becky Herold preceded her. In 2002 her only grandchild Josh Herold preceded her and her sister Norma Wika preceded her in 1972.

At Jerry’s request no service will be held. Private burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet near her family. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
