Mules lose one

Last Friday, the Wahkiakum Mule boys basketball team spent much of the evening chasing Adna after being outscored by the Pirates 14 points in the second quarter. The Mules eventually lost 86-58.

“We continue to get hurt on the boards on both ends,” Coach Todd Souvenir said. “It resulted in too many second chance points for Adna. Joey (Moore) had a good game on both ends, and hopefully will continue to be a threat on the offensive end in the second half of the season.”

Moore led the team with 20 points. He added one rebound, three assists and two steals. Brandon Budd scored 15 points, had six rebounds, four assists and three steals. Zach Brown added 10 points, four rebounds, two assists and one block. Hank Ferguson scored six points and had two rebounds, four assists and one steal. Ryan Quigley and Kael McKinley hit three apiece. Quigley added three rebounds, three assists and one block. Cody Terpsma added a free throw, two rebounds and one steal. Casey Wilson had one rebound.

The Mules faced Pe Ell on Wednesday but a score was not available by press time. They travel to Winlock on Friday and play at home Saturday in a double header with the Lady Mules against Mossyrock.
