January 29, 2015



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

January 20 — 1:42 a.m. Deputies responded to a report that an elderly Puget Island resident was missing. Search and rescue was activated and the resident was located and returned home at 3:04 a.m. 6:39 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a Deep River resident with kidney pain. 9:59 a.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had been parked at County Line Park for several days.

January 21 — 10:39 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a theft. 10:49 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a Deep River resident. 11:20 a.m. A Rosedale business reported receiving multiple bad checks from one individual. 11:21 a.m. A Cathlamet business reported receiving multiple bad checks from one individual. 3:40 p.m. A Cathlamet resident was taken into custody after a warrant was issued. 4:53 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and District 4 Fire Department responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who had a very bad headache. LifeFlight was activated.

January 22 — 10:21 a.m. A caller reported a partially submerged boat near Nassa Point. 11:43 a.m. A Rosburg resident reported a missing dog and expressed concern because neighbors had heard gunshots at his residence the day before. The dog was later located. 12:10 p.m. A caller reported a submerged boat in the Skamokawa area. 1:58 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that his home had been burgled. 2:00 p.m. A caller reported that a man was causing a disturbance in a Rosedale neighborhood. 3:00 p.m. A caller reported that a man was causing a disturbance in a Rosedale neighborhood. He was transported to the hospital. 4:54 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Puget Island resident who had fallen.

January 23 — 5 p.m. A car was vandalized in Cathlamet. 9:01 p.m. An individual wanted on a warrant of arrest was taken into custody.

January 24 — 6:26 a.m. A caller reported a tree down in the Skamokawa area. 8:24 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that someone had been shining laser lights into his home. 10:07 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported a possible case of fraud. 12:21 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident. 1:13 p.m. A caller reported that three suspicious individuals who had attempted to break into a van earlier had returned. 2:21 p.m. A caller reported hearing shots fired in the Cathlamet area.

January 25 — 12:52 a.m. Local business owners were concerned about a suspicious man who insisted on a ride and refused to leave. The individual mentioned a murder and the owners became alarmed. Two deputies responded and the individual said he would move to SR 4 to try and find a ride. 6:35 a.m. A caller reported a suspicious man loitering at a Rosedale business. A deputy responded. 7:28 a.m. A caller heard shots fired in a no shoot zone in the Elochoman Valley. A deputy investigated and found that the duck hunters were outside the no shoot zone. 6:18 p.m. Domestic violence was reported at a Rosedale home. A knife was involved in the incident and one person was taken into custody.
