Salmon canning with experts offered

 


Wahkiakum Marine Resources Committee is sponsoring salmon canning parties with WSU Food Safety Advisors, Carol Ervest and Carrie Backman.

There will be an adult and youth session. The adult session is Wednesday, March 18, 10 a.m., to 2 p.m. The youth session will be Saturday, March 21, 10 a.m., to 2 p.m.

The canning parties will be held at the Grays River Grange. Salmon is provided by South Bend Products.

There is no charge to participate; however, participants should pre-register and plan to bring at least two pint jars to take home fish. It’s advisable for participants to bring more jars in case there is an abundance of fish available to take home.

Limited numbers of jars are available at no charge to those in need. Participants must pre-register to participate, as space is limited. Call the Extension office at 795-3278 to register.
