Longtime Cathlamet resident Margaret Burt celebrated her 107th birthday on Friday surrounded by friends old and new. "It took a long time to get here," she drily told a caregiver while she took in the festive scene. Burt moved to Cathlamet about 30 years ago, guessed friend Carol McLain. Burt grew up in Buhl, Idaho, and went to secretarial school, eventually working for a law firm in Seattle until she retired. She quite recently moved to Longview. Photo by Diana Zimmerman.
