News from Naselle:

Sports calendar for the Naselle Comet teams this week include: Thursday, track at South Bend at 3:30 p.m .; Friday, fast pitch and baseball at Ocosta at 4 p.m .; Tuesday, fast pitch and baseball with Wahkiakum in Naselle at 4 p.m .; Wednesday,middle school track at South Bend at 3:39 p.m., fast pitch and baseball at Warranton at 4 p.m. Go Comets!

Students will be released at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday for inservice.

A hearty congratulations to The Force, Naselle’s Knowledge Bowl team, for placing 7th in the state competition. You make us proud.

Tickets are still available for the 3rd Annual Spaghetti Feed in the Grays River Valley Center at Johnson Park being held this Saturday, serving 5-8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased from Johnson Park Advisory Board members for $12 per person. Board members include Trudy Fredrickson, Tim Virkkala, Amber Davis, Dee Nikkila, Shonda Ware and PJ Katims. The ticket entitles you to one glass of wine with your meal which includes spaghetti with meatballs, salad, bread and dessert. Coffee and tea are also available.

Nick Nickolas from Tacoma, fresh from his 90th birthday bash last weekend, is our guest chef, assisted by his son, Nick II. Nick is Penny Gregory’s Dad.

We will also feature live music, performed by Jerry and Becky Ledtke and the Wahkiakum Vibes from Skamokawa. Please join us for a fun evening of good food, good music and good fun. For more info or to order tickets, please call 465-2775 or 465-2960. We hope to see you there.

The Second Annual Community In-Door Super Sale will take place on March 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and we have a sellout on tables. There will be more than 50 vendors on sale day, and they will feature many different items offered by community and area participants: antiques or vintage items, collectibles, crafts, new and used or repurposed items, tools, and much more. Hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages will be available for purchase in the cafeteria, sponsored by the GRVC. Baked goods provided by the Grays River United Methodist Church Friendship Circle, will also be available during the day. On Sunday, the 29th, the annual chicken dinner, sponsored by the Rosburg Community Club will be held in the Rosburg Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. This delicious home cooked meal is always a hit in the community, with yummy baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, out of this world salad bar and fantastic desserts.

The Rosburg Community Club will hold their next meeting today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at the Rosburg Hall. Membership to this group requires no dues, and is open to anyone interested. This group offers much to the community.

The Free Friday Night movie this week is a rated R, 2014 release, whose title character is tricked into becoming a drug mule and gains psychokinetic abilities from a nootropic drug being absorbed into her bloodstream.

Concessions are also available with popcorn, candy and pop. The show starts at 7 p.m.

I would like to wish my wonderful husband of 48 years, a very happy anniversary. It hardly seems like we have been together that long, though we have been through some pretty interesting times. Hoping for many more years to celebrate together.
