After threatening a steal, Joey Moore dives back to first base as the Mossyrock pitcher tries to pick him off.

The Wahkiakum Mules baseball team finished one game of a double header before it began to rain on Friday. They beat Mossyrock 6-4.

Zac Brown pitched a complete game, striking out 15 batters, though the Vikings were able to get five hits off of him.

Joey Moore was 2-3 at bat. Luke Brown went 1-3 at bat and drove in one run. James Anderson was 1-2 for the game and drove in two runs. Hank Ferguson was also 1-2 at bat.

"The team battled all seven innings and came out on top," Coach Marc Niemeyer said. "We executed when we needed it on offense."

On Tuesday, Mossyrock returned to finish their double header and brought the softball team with them. There was no game report from the softball coach.

The baseball team lost 1-2. Brown again threw a complete game, striking out nine. Luke Brown was 1-2, James Anderson was 1-2 and Casey Wilson was 1-2.

"We hit the ball just right at everybody, but it was a great baseball game," Coach Niemeyer said.
