Sheriff's Report, July 2, 2015

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

June 22 — 3:59 p.m. A caller reported a man sleeping in his car in the parking lot of an Elochoman Valley business. 7:23 p.m. A caller reported that cows were loose in the Skamokawa area. 7:37 p.m. A driver was taken into custody after a vehicle stop in the Elochoman Valley. 8:25 p.m. A dog was found on SR 4 near County Line Park. 11:29 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that a calf had been stolen and that someone had vandalized a water trough.

June 23 — 11:42 a.m. A caller was concerned that an individual was taking advantage of her father. A deputy investigated and said the concern was unfounded. 1:50 p.m. Deputies, the Skamokawa Fire Department, the Cathlamet Fire Department and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Skamokawa home when a juvenile caused a disturbance and was reported to be hurting himself. 3:02 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Puget Island home. 9:32 p.m. A caller reported that a juvenile had run away from a Skamokawa home.

June 24 — 8:06 a.m. Items were stolen from a Schwann’s truck. 8:35 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that there was a burglary in progress and that one of the subjects was carrying a gun. 1:04 p.m. A caller reported an individual in a motorized wheelchair on the Puget Island bridge. 2:22 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a patient who may have suffered a stroke from the clinic in Cathlamet to the hospital. 3:12 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department and the Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale individual with chest pain. 6:18 p.m. A Puget Island resident requested assistance in dealing with an individual with whom he no longer had a relationship. He was advised to speak with an attorney and to contact the mental health department. 6:59 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported the violation of a protection order.

June 25 — 2:28 a.m. A caller complained that people were causing a disturbance and upsetting her dogs while driving vehicles up and down a Puget Island road. 5:44 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a woman at the marina who was concerned that she had broken a leg after a fall. 8:29 a.m. A Deep River resident reported a theft. 8:51 a.m. The state patrol requested assistance in locating more than 75 Amish people who were reported to be blocking traffic on SR 4. They were found in Pacific County, headed for forest land. 2:26 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual who had fallen off a deck in the Rosedale area. 4:52 p.m. The Grays River Fire Department and the Grays River ambulance responded to a brush fire started by a tractor in the Rosburg area. 5:43 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident. 8:25 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded when a water alarm was activated on the Westend. The PUD was notified. 10:06 p.m.The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident.

June 26 — 1:52 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported the violation of a protection order. 2:07 p.m. A motorist reported that he had been rear ended on SR 4 in the Skamokawa area. 2:53 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance assisted a Puget Island resident who had injured her foot. 5:35 p.m. A Deep River resident reported a phone scam. 5:46 p.m. A caller was concerned about a juvenile who was wandering around barefoot and looking in windows in downtown Cathlamet. 6:00 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that a neighbor was watering her lawn. The caller was reminded that the water restriction was voluntary.

June 27 — 8:19 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported a deceased deer in her yard. 10:00 a.m. The Puget Island Fire Department assisted with a dog rescue. 12:16 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Skamokawa address. 12:20 p.m. A Grays River resident was concerned that someone was squatting at a neighboring house. 8:27 p.m. A caller reported kids jumping off the bridge in Skamokawa.

June 28 — 7:47 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Skamokawa resident who had back pain. 9:59 a.m. The Skamokawa and Cathlamet Fire Departments responded when a caller reported seeing smoke coming from a house in Skamokawa. It turned out to be a controlled burn and the individual had a permit. 12:38 p.m. A caller reported a panhandler on SR 4 in Skamokawa. 2:12 p.m. A caller reported a juvenile with a bow headed towards a Cathlamet park.

June 29 — 3:46 a.m. A deputy, a representative from the mental health department and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Puget Island residence to aid an elderly woman who was agitated and exhibiting signs of dementia.
