Paul A. Giaver

 


Paul Andrew Giaver, 85, died July 26, 2015 at his Cathlamet home.

He was born in November of 1929 in Norway. He received his education in Norway and graduated from the University of Washington in 1958. He served in the Army and was stationed in Korea.

On March 17, 1956 he married Anna Reime. She preceded him in death in 2014.

Mr. Giaver was an engineer for the Department of Natural Resources for 10 years and was the Wahkiakum County Engineer from 1968 to 1982 when he retired.

He was a member of the Kelso/Longview Elks, the American Legion and the Sons of Norway. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and he and Anna spent 20 years of wintering in Cathedral City, Calif.

Survivors include many nieces, nephews and cousins in Norway and many local friends.

A funeral service will be held at Dowling Funeral Home, 45 Broadway St., Cathlamet, on Saturday, August 1 at 11 a.m., with the Reverend JoAnn Prestegard officiating.

Viewing will take place Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at Dowling’s.
