Nova McNally

Nova Ilene McNally, 80, a lifelong Cathlamet resident, passed away on August 20, 2015 at The Hospice Care Center in Longview. She was born to Amandus and Inga (Johnsen) Olsen on Puget Island. Nova attended Wahkiakum Schools and the Lutheran Church on Welcome Slough. On June 10, 1951 she married Kenneth R. McNally on Puget Island and he preceded her in 1988. They raised their four children in Skamokawa and Cathlamet and owned KR McNally Construction. Nova enjoyed golf, bowling, dancing, travel, family and friends. Nova was a member of Skamokawa Grange, Friends of Skamokawa, Astoria American Legion and Women’s International Bowling Congress. Nova was devoted to her family, loving and supporting them all.

Nova is survived by her children Marsha and Gordie Souvenir, Debra and Kevin Fogarty, Brad and Kerrie McNally, and Keith McNally; her grandchildren, Todd and Kristen Souvenir, Brandon Souvenir, Lance and Heidi Souvenir, Rachelle and Eric Velazquez, Veronica and Jared Hill, Kara McNally, Rhiannon McNally and Teah McNally; her great-grandchildren, Shane and Peyton Souvenir, Mariah and Kylee Souvenir, Ashton and Sakaya Velazquez, Noah and Sophia Hill, Grant, Brienne, Mackenzie, Lindsey, Marie, Lynsie and Trace and several step great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson. She is also survived by her loving companion, Roger Davis and his daughter Jan Caliman and family and a special friend Jack Cogswell. In addition to her husband KR she was preceded in death by a sister Anita Olsen and a brother, Einar Olsen.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, August 30th at 2pm at United Methodist Church in Skamokawa with a luncheon to follow. Entombment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet. Memorial contributions may be made in Nova’s name to Cathlamet First Aid Division, 375 2nd St., Cathlamet, WA 98612, Wahkiakum Cemetery District #1, P.O.
