Grays River Valley Center at Johnson Park will once again hold our annual All Hallows Eve event at Johnson Park.

This is a full evening of free fun for our kids, out of the weather, and in a safe environment. As in years past we provide indoor trick or treating for the kids, popcorn and a movie. By holding this annual event, we are trying to give back a little bit to our wonderful community in appreciation for all their support.

We still need a few folks in costume to man the trick-or-treating doors, and to help out in the kitchen with refreshments, etc. We have 14 doors that we need someone behind to hand out candy to the young trick or treaters, and we usually serve about 100 kids. If you would like to donate candy or funds to purchase items for the evening, please contact me at 465-2960.

The Annual Holiday Bazaar, sponsored by the Rosburg Community Club, will be held October 31, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Rosburg Hall.

Their delicious baked chicken lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and includes their famous desserts and salads. If you would like to rent a space to sell your items please call Barbara Rose at 465-2234.

The Free Friday Night Movie this week is rated PG-13, released in 2015, this sci-fi film tells the story of Tony Stark, who jumpstarts a dormant peacekeeping program. But things go awry and Earth's Mightiest Super Heroes are put to the ultimate test as they battle to save the planet from destruction at the hands of the villainous Ultron.

Concessions are also available with popcorn, pop and candy for reasonable prices. The show starts at 7 p.m.

The Rosburg Wednesday Senior Lunch Bunch meets each week in the Rosburg Hall for their meal prepared and served by Pat Potter and her volunteer crew.

On Thursdays, CAP sponsors a senior lunch at the Rosburg Hall. Lunches for both days are served at noon.

Last Sunday I finally received the call to drive to Redmond, Oregon to welcome our second great grandson to the world. I left home at 3:30 a.m. but he decided not to wait for me to get there. He was born at 6:01 a.m., and I arrived at the hospital two hours later. Arrow James Ian Hueners weighed 8 lbs. 11 oz. and was 19 1/4 inches long. What a sweet blessing to finally hold in our arms. He was welcomed by his big brother, Ezekiel who is six, going on 20 and is certain to be the best big brother ever,

My sincere thanks to everyone who shared and donated to our son-in-law’s GoFundMe page. We are nearly to our goal, and we have had calls from other people who are also interested in more info for their loved ones afflicted with this terrible disease. We have so much hope now, and hope to get the procedure in time for him to get back on his feet in time for the holidays. It would be a miraculous gift. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
