Haystack Rock Awareness Program to celebrate 30 years

Friends of Haystack Rock supports the Haystack Rock Awareness Program in cooperation with the City of Cannon Beach, promoting the preservation and protection of the intertidal life and birds that inhabit the Marine Garden and the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge at Haystack Rock.

Haystack Rock Awareness Program is celebrating 30 years of educating and protecting the marine environs surronding Haystack Rock, including the Oregon Island National Wildlife Refuge, Oregon State Marine Garden and State Park.

The Library Lecture Series is held the second Wednesday of each month, November to April from 7-8:30 p.m. at Cannon Beach Library, 131 N. Hemlock St, Cannon Beach.

The first talk is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 11, featuring Dr. Bill Peterson, Oceanographer with NOAA Northwest Fisheries Science Center at Newport Field Station. His talk is titled "Effects of Ocean Conditions & Climate Change on Marine Food Chains, Salmon and Other Fishes."
