Ronald James Bigelow, 80, of Cathlamet, died January 5, 2016 at the Hospice Care Center.

He was born in Long Beach, Calif., to Vernon and Katherine (Welton) Bigelow.

He served in the Air Force for 22 years, earning the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a test flight mechanic for Boeing in Seattle until retiring in 1992. He moved to Cathlamet 23 years ago from Pacific, Wash.

On December 24, 1975, he married Joyce A. Wilson in Lancaster, Calif. She survives him at home. He also leaves behind a sister, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald James Bigelow, Jr.

A celebration of his life, including a potluck, is planned for 3 p.m., February 6, at the Norse Hall, 444 SR 409 on Puget Island.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Brotherhood of Hope. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
