Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

February 2 — 6:38 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a medical alarm in Deep River. The alarm was cancelled. 11:07 a.m. A man was taken into custody after striking his wife with a cane in the Rosedale area. 11:52 a.m. A caller reported that a neighbor had been speeding up and down their road every day on his way to and from work during lunch. 12:59 p.m. A motion alarm was activated at a Puget Island address. The homeowner was contacted. 5:15 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to an alarm at a Rosburg home. The alarm had been activated accidentally.

February 3 — 11:23 a.m. A deputy assisted with a jump start in Cathlamet. 12:16 p.m. A caller reported that three people were currently trespassing and stealing at a Skamokawa address. 12:31 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a Cathlamet clinic patient who was in and out of consciousness to the hospital. 2:41 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had been left in the middle of a Deep River road. 2:47 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported feeling threatened by a neighbor who was banging on her door. 3:29 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had run a stop sign and nearly hit a school bus in Cathlamet.

February 4 — 10:10 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident who was having back spasms. 11:14 p.m. A caller complained that a delivery driver had nearly hit his dog while speeding down a Skamokawa road. 1:41 p.m. A Rosedale business reported receiving three bad checks.

February 5 — 7:51 a.m. An accident was reported on SR 4 near County Line Park. 2:31 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported receiving harassing texts. 4:43 p.m. A caller was concerned about possible drinking and driving near County Line Park. 9:49 p.m. A caller complained about noise outside a Cathlamet restaurant. 11:28 p.m. Deputies and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to the report of a one vehicle accident on Puget Island.

February 6 — 3:09 p.m. A deputy aided a resident who locked her keys in a vehicle at a Rosedale business. 4:29 p.m. A caller reported a man pacing and yelling in Cathlamet. A mental health representative was contacted. 4:33 p.m. A caller reported that a family member who had been drinking was headed east on SR 4.

February 7 — 11:09 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Skamokawa address. The owner was notified. 5:31 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported hearing two loud explosions. 5:58 p.m. A caller reported people driving ATVs at high speeds on a Puget Island road. 7:20 p.m. A car was being driven at high speeds on a Skamokawa road. 8:55 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Deep River resident when a medical alarm was activated. 11:55 p.m. The Skamokawa Fire Department, the District 4 Fire Department, the Cathlamet ambulance and a deputy responded to a vehicle fire in the Skamokawa area.
