Healthy garden food series set

Jon Griffin, Washington State University Master Gardener, will present a series of classes on growing environmentally safe vegetables with limited resources to make a successful garden. Classes will be held:

--Feb. 22, 6 p.m.: Planning your Garden (Soil management, Garden Layout, how to use the space),

March 21, 6 p.m.: Preparing your Garden (What to grow, starting seeds, when to plant, tilling the soil), and

April 18, 6 p.m.: Tending the Garden (Weeding, watering, mulching, when to harvest).

The cost will be $10 (all family members) per class or $15 (all family members) for the series.

Classes, sponsored by Washington State University Extension Master Gardeners, will be held in the Cowlitz County Training Center located at 1942 First Avenue in Longview. For more information or to register, contact Gary Fredricks at 577-3014 Ext 3 or garyf@wsu.edu.
