Free gardening classes to be held

 


Washington State University Master Gardeners and faculty will present classes on growing vegetables, preparing them to eat after harvest and canning the extra to store for later. Classes will be held on:

March 15, 6:00 p.m.: Growing the Garden (Preparing the garden, when to plant, how to start early, growing tips.)

April 19, 6:00 p.m.: Preserving your Harvest (Learn about canning vegetables safely. Discussion will focus on equipment and supplies and using a pressure canner.)

May 17, 6:00 p.m.: Tasting your harvest (How to prepare tasty meals using local produce. Learn easy recipes using fresh produce.)

These free classes, sponsored by Washington State University Extension and Longview Libraries, will be held at the Longview Library located at 1600 Louisiana Street. For more information or to register, contact Gary Fredricks at 577-3014 Ext 3 or garyf@wsu.edu.
