Westend news:

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that the Grays River Valley Center at Johnson Park is adding a game room for kids, teens and adults. We are looking for items to help make this a great experience for everyone. If you have items (must be in good condition and in working order) that you think we could use please contact Carrie Sweeten at 360 465-2318. We already have a full size pool table and cues and are looking for other items to be used by all ages, such as puzzles, cards, games, etc.

The annual Grays River Valley Center at Johnson Park spaghetti feed was postponed this year and has been rescheduled to take place on April 23, 5-7 p.m. The menu will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and dessert with beverages. Tickets can be purchased at the door for adults $12 and children eight years and younger $6. Proceeds will be used for operations and maintaining the GRVC.

For more information please contact Shonda Ware at 465-2722.

This week’s Free Friday Night Movie synopsis: "During the Cold War, an American lawyer is recruited to defend an arrested Soviet spy in court, and then help the CIA facilitate an exchange of the spy for the Soviet captured American U2 spy plane pilot, Francis Gary Powers.” This 2015 release is rated PG-13.

The show starts at 7 p.m., and concessions are available with popcorn, candy and cold drinks for a nominal fee.

I don’t have details yet, but it looks like it won’t be much longer before the Grays River Cafe re-opens under new ownership.

Happy Birthday to Zane Parrino, Lori Scott, Bill Locker, Jon Chapman, Phillip Penttila, Sean Roberts and Blair Gray.
