April 28, 2016



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

April 18 — 8:47 a.m. The sheriff’s office received a report of child abuse. 11:57 a.m. A caller reported a driver speeding on a Cathlamet street. 5:01 p.m. A caller reported that a toddler was missing from a Rosedale home. He was later found near SR 4. 8:05 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was suffering with head pain.

April 19 — 8:18 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that someone had stolen some equipment. 1:08 p.m. A caller complained that a vehicle had been parked in front of a Cathlamet building for about 10 days. 1:55 p.m A caller reported seeing buckets and other boating items floating in the Columbia near Nassa Point. The caller was concerned that a boat had overturned. 2:26 p.m. A caller reported being threatened by text message.

April 20 — 12:33 p.m. A caller reported that a couple were having a quarrel on a Cathlamet street. 2:11 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a squatter on his property. 2:49 p.m. A caller reported that her boyfriend would not let her leave a Cathlamet residence. 2:53 p.m. A caller complained about a slow driver that was having trouble staying in his lane on SR 4 near Nassa Point. A deputy stopped the driver. 7:05 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading west on SR 4. A deputy stopped the driver.

April 21 — 2:32 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident that was bleeding internally. 5:42 a.m. A Cathlamet resident complained about a noisy neighbor that was keeping everyone nearby awake all night. 11:00 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided an ailing Grays River resident who had leg pain and was unable to stand. 1:45 p.m. A caller complained about a truck and trailer that had been parked on a Cathlamet street for a long time. 5:17 p.m. A caller reported a power outage in the Rosburg area. The PUD was notified. 5:44 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident that was having respiratory issues. 6:31 p.m. A power outage was reported in the Skamokawa area. The PUD was notified. 8:08 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident complained that someone had blocked her driveway. When she was advised to ask the person to move, she refused. 9:16 p.m. A caller reported that two people were arguing outside a Deep River home.

April 22 — 7:49 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was having an allergic reaction. 8:08 a.m. The District 4 Fire Department responded to the report of a possible chimney fire in the Elochoman Valley. 10:18 a.m. Deputies and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to the report of a domestic disturbance at a Rosedale home. Weapons were mentioned in the complaint. 10:43 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident complained about a neighbor’s dog who was in her yard. The caller said the dog had almost bit her several times. 11:32 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a victim of an assault to the hospital. 11:33 a.m. A caller reported a dog that had been locked in a parked vehicle in Cathlamet. 12:48 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident who had suffered a stroke. 2:42 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check for a Puget Island resident. 2:58 p.m. A caller reported being cut off by an aggressive driver on SR 4. 3:24 p.m. A caller reported that the petitioner of a restraining order issued against him had tried to make contact. 8:38 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle passing in a no passing zone. A deputy located the vehicle and the driver was cited for speeding.

April 23 — 9:34 p.m. Deputies, the District 4 Fire Department, and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a one vehicle accident involving two individuals on SR 4 in the Flandersville area. 11:39 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a theft. 12:05 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and the Cathlamet Fire Department aided a Cathlamet resident who was ailing and unresponsive. 4:20 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that he was being harassed by someone knocking on his door. He asked to talk to someone from the mental health department. 7:10 p.m. It was reported that an inmate at the county jail had folded a baking sheet and ruined it.

April 24 — 9:12 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident complained that someone had cut branches on some of the trees at the front of her property. 12:15 p.m. A deputy and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to an Elochoman Valley home after someone reported being bitten by a dog.
