Track & Field: Mule girls win Pirate Classic

The Wahkiakum Mule track team competed against five schools at the Adna Pirate Classic on Tuesday. The team took first place in girls competition with 146 points and the sixth in boys competition with 34 points.

Ryan Quigley led the boys, placing second in the high jump and third in both the long jump and the triple jump. He cleared 5-06 in the high jump and 17-07 and 34-04 in the long jump and triple jump, respectively.

Jaiden Mahitka took fifth place in the 100 meter race with a time of 12.44. The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Mahitka, Quigley, Flavio Stucki, and Putter Thongkijlaohachai finished in 50.83 and took third place.

In the girls' competition, Rory Heywood placed third in both the 100 meters and the 200 meters with times of 13.93 and 29.06 respectively. Grace Peacock finished the 100 meters in 13.99 and took fifth place.

Tyra Elliott place third in the 400 meters with a time of 1:06.25.

Ellie Leitz won the 800 meters with a time of 2:41.54. Grayci Thomas was just a few seconds behind her and finished in fourth place with a time of 2:48.69.

Macie Elliott won the 1600 meters with a time of 6:06.99. Katharine Choi placed third in the 3200 with a time of 17:52.06 and Bryanna Peek took fourth with a time of 22:38.69.

Trinity Klecker took second place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 56.05. Charlie Ashe took third place with a time of 57.51, and Destiny McGowan came in sixth place with a time of 1:00.58.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Cheyenne Barton, M. Elliott, R. Heywood, and Peacock took first with a time of 54.31. McKensi Fluckiger, Klecker, McGowan and Thomas came in fourth place with a time of 58.85.

Barton, T. Elliott, R. Heywood, and Peacock took second place in the 4 x 200 meter relay with a time of 1:58.24. Fluckiger, Mia Li, McGowan, and Thomas finished with a time of 2:05.46 and took third.

The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Barton, M. Elliott, T. Elliott, and Leitz finished the race in 4:42.16 and took second place.

Tarah Wisner took second place in the shot put with a distance of 28-10. Rayanna Carlon took sixth place with a toss of 24-05. Carlon also placed fifth in the discus with a distance of 72-11.

Charlie Ashe placed second in the high jump, clearing 4-08. Fluckiger took third in the long jump with a distance of 14-02. Leitz won the triple jump, leaping 30-06.5 and Fluckiger came in third with a distance of 29-11.5.

The team travels to Ilwaco next Tuesday for their next meet.
