The Wahkiakum Mules track and field team traveled to Ilwaco to compete in the Pacific County Invite along with seven other 1B and 2B teams on Tuesday.

Ryan Quigley led the boys, placing in three individual events and on one relay team. He took third place in the high jump, clearing 5-04; fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 37-01.00; and fifth in the long jump with a leap of 18-00.5. Quigley, along with Josiah Romines, Flavio Stucki, and Putter Thongkijlaohachai took fourth in the 4 x 100 meter relay with a time of 51.10.

Brandon Parraz placed sixth in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:25.80. Thongkijlaohachai finished the 3200 meters in 12:54.12 and took sixth.

The boys earned 25 points and finished in seventh place out of eight teams.

Macie Elliott and Ellie Leitz led the girl’s team with wins in the 1600 meters and the 800 meters respectively. Elliott finished her event in 5:47.47 and Leitz won the 800 in 2:53.24.

Grayci Thomas finished second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:55.12.

Grace Peacock placed third in the 100 meters and second in the 200 meters with times of 13.85 and 28.33 respectively. Rory Heywood placed third in the 200 meters with a time of 28.34.

Tyra Elliott finished the 400 meters in 1:07.78 and took second place.

Katharine Choi finished the 3200 meters in 17:06.48 and took third place. Bryanna Peek placed fifth with a time of 21:52.50.

Charlie Ashe took sixth place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 20.07. She also took second in the high jump, clearing 4-08.

Destiny McGowan took fourth place in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.73.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of M. Elliott, T. Elliott, R. Heywood, and Peacock placed second with a time of 54.64. The 4 x 200 meter relay team of Ashe, T. Elliott, R. Heywood and Thomas took second place with a time of 2:00.67. The 4 x 400 meter relay team of M. Elliott, T. Elliott, Leitz and Thomas took second place with a time of 4:54.87 and the team of Choi, Mia Li, McGowan and McKinnah Nielsen took fourth with a time of 5:51.38.

Tarah Wisner placed sixth in the shot put with a distance of 28-06 and fourth in the discus with a distance of 81-07. M. Elliott finished in fifth place in the discus with a distance of 76-09. McKensi Fluckiger came in third place in the long jump with a distance of 14-02. Leitz took sixth place in the triple jump with a distance of 30-08.

The girls earned 129.5 points and finished in second place out of seven teams.

The Mules finish the regular season with a meet in Naselle today.
