Hunter education class starts July 23

Class needed for all beginning hunters

 


A series of basic hunter education classes, needed by all beginning hunters, will start July 23 at the Cathlamet Fire Hall.

To register, one must go the the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife website and follow the path to register for a traditional class (http://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/huntered/classes/basic.php). The path takes one to Hunter Education Courses, Traditional Class, Register Now, July 23, View Event, Register. The website contains a list of instructions that must be followed to complete registration.

Classes will take place July 23, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m .; July 26, 6-9 p.m., and July 20, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Instructor is Charles M. Nadgwick.

Students under 18 must bring a signed parent agreement form. They should be sure to bring a lunch on both Saturday; notify instructors of any special needs prior to class schedule and bring no firearms or ammo.

There is no minimum age to enroll, but instructors may require a parent or guardian to attend classes if students are under age 12.

Students must attend all three classes , unless prior approval from chief instructor. Any student deciding to cancel must cancel by July18.

As of July 8, nine of 20 seats were still open for registration.
