CNA Bridge Training offered

The Care Careers Academy is offering a daytime Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Bridge program for Home Care Aides (HCAs) and Medical Assistants (MAs). This course will start Tuesday, August 2, and includes classroom instruction, skills training and five hours of clinical experience. Prerequisites for enrollees consist of having an up-to-date certification from Washington State as a Certified Home Care Aide or Medical Assistant. Students will need to take and pass the state CNA Certification Test to obtain certification. Day and evening classes are available.

Becoming a CNA allows graduates to work in a variety of medical settings including nursing homes, doctor’s offices, retirement homes, adult family homes and hospitals, as well as in-home senior/disabled care. CNA training is also a prerequisite for many nursing schools. There is currently a shortage of CNAs locally and throughout the United States. Nursing Assistant careers hold one of the top five positions for job growth in the nation due to the expanding aging population.
