Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

August 15 — 8:02 a.m. The Prosecutor’s Office requested law enforcement. 9:58 a.m. A caller reported that fuel was stolen from Health and Human Services in the Elochoman Valley. The theft was caught on video. 10:44 a.m. A caller reported that an individual was speeding up and down a Deep River road on an ATV. 11:31 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that someone had broken into a trailer and stolen several items. 12:01 p.m. A caller reported three youths skateboarding on a Cathlamet street. 4:11 p.m. A caller in Deep River reported that she had been assaulted and that her assailant would not let her leave. 8:52 p.m. A Grays River resident reported a missing dog. The dog was later found. 9:34 p.m. An individual was taken into custody after a vehicle stop in Cathlamet.

August 16 — 8:05 a.m. A Cathlamet resident requested assistance when he found an unknown vehicle blocking his driveway. 12:08 p.m. A caller reported seeing two individuals looking in mailboxes in Cathlamet. 2:16 p.m. A Grays River resident reported that he was assaulted by his girlfriend during a quarrel. 2:58 p.m. A caller reported a speeding driver on N. Welcome Slough Road on Puget Island. 3:20 p.m. A Deep River resident reported that an ex-boyfriend was harassing her on Facebook. 3:23 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Cathlamet resident. 4:00 p.m. A caller reported that there were trucks and trailers blocking the road at a boat launch in Deep River. A deputy said he would go to the boat launch the next day and post some signs. 4:13 p.m. A missing gun in Grays River prompted a call from Adult Protective Services. A resident with dementia may have simply misplaced the firearm. 7:08 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident complained about a neighbor’s barking dogs. 8:33 p.m. A caller reported a lot of smoke in the Grays River area. A homeowner was burning leaves in a fire pit. The Grays River Fire Department responded and put out the fire. 9:08 p.m. A caller reported that she had spoken with a youth in Deep River who was upset and had been walking back and forth on an SR 4 bridge for several hours. A deputy spoke with the child before returning him to his home and speaking with his parents. 10:36 p.m. The owner of a property along SR 4 at Nassa Point reported that someone had parked their truck and trailer in front of his shed. He wanted a deputy to ask the people to leave. 10:59 p.m. A caller said he had new information about an impending earthquake. He told dispatch that he was on an Elochoman Valley road looking for a deputy. A deputy found him and took him into custody after a field sobriety test.

August 17 — 7:33 a.m. A caller reported that a houseboat on Puget Island was breaking up. 2:20 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that her son’s face had been bitten by a dog three days earlier.

August 18 — 12:06 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a woman who had fallen out of a chair and had a possible broken arm at the fairgrounds. 9:41 a.m. A caller reported people trespassing on property in Grays River. 11:04 a.m. A caller was concerned about a family member who was suicidal. The individual was located and taken to the hospital. 2:54 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a woman with heat stroke at the fairgrounds. 3:56 p.m. Deputies responded to the report of domestic violence at an Elochoman Valley home. 4:40 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that a man had parked a vehicle on his property without permission. The man did come to the door, however, and told the caller’s wife that he was going to leave the truck there. 7:37 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a Rosedale resident. A deputy stopped by the home but no one was there. 8:02 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that her children had been walking their dog when four shots were fired by a neighbor. 8:23 p.m. A caller reported that drivers were speeding on a Cathlamet street. 9:54 p.m. A caller reported that an erratic driver had just pulled into the parking lot of a Rosedale business. 11:39 p.m. Deputies and the Cathlamet Fire Department responded when a Cathlamet resident reported a strong smell of gas.

August 19 — 5:58 a.m. A caller reported that a boat in the Cathlamet marina had taken on water. The boat was taken out of the water. 9:03 a.m. An individual violated a no contact order and assaulted a resident in the Elochoman Valley. The man was taken into custody. 11:20 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported a missing dog. The dog was later found. 3:59 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Skamokawa resident who had suffered a heat related seizure. Life Flight was en route. 5:03 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual suffering from heat related issues at the fairgrounds. 5:14 p.m. A caller with a restraining order asked to speak to a deputy about concerns that people were moving some of his belongings at an Elochoman Valley residence. 6:10 p.m. A Cathlamet resident requested that a deputy drive by her home because someone had been there that morning and set her birdhouse on its side. The caller said it shouldn’t happen again because the man who was tracking her was using her GPS and she had shut it off. 11:19 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that she and her family and friends were being harassed via text by someone she knew.

August 20 — 2:03 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a vehicle had driven past her home several times before blocking her driveway and asking for someone. The caller wasn’t sure if he was drunk, but she was uncomfortable about the incident. 1:27 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident complained about a neighbor’s dogs that barked incessantly. 3:13 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 5:02 p.m. A caller reported a young child walking along SR 4 west of Skamokawa. His family was in a field nearby. 5:27 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that there was a porcupine in his tree. 5:37 p.m. A caller reported that some of the campers on the fairground property may have been drinking and were causing problems. 8:53 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that someone had come into her home and fiddled with her toilet. 10:06 p.m. A driver was taken into custody after a vehicle stop and a field sobriety test. 11:48 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle was jackknifed on a Cathlamet street.

August 21 — 1:25 p.m. A caller reported that a dog had been hit in the Elochoman Valley. The owner was found and notified. 3:35 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a porcupine in his yard. 4:13 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Cathlamet resident. 4:18 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that her neighbors had violated a restraining order. 5:35 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a Puget Island resident.

August 22 — 11:11 a.m. A caller reported that the lock on his gate had been cut. 12:48 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported the theft of a fuel can from his skiff.
