September 22, 2016



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

September 12 — 12:06 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on an individual who had received some bad news. 1:37 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Cathlamet resident. 7:34 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and the Cathlamet Fire Department aided an Alger Creek resident with a heart ailment. Life Flight was activated.

September 13 — 8:11 a.m. A caller reported that the PUD substation in Cathlamet had been vandalized. 11:05 a.m. A caller reported a domestic disturbance on a Cathlamet street. 12:08 p.m. A caller reported that an individual was attempting to climb the bridge on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area in order to reach the osprey nest. 12:24 p.m. A caller in a civil dispute wanted to collect his property and asked for assistance.

September 14 — 8:15 a.m. A caller reported that an individual was sitting on top of the Elochoman Bridge on SR 4. He was given a breathalyzer test and taken into custody. 2:24 p.m. A caller reported that a child had been sexually abused at an Elochoman Valley residence. 3:24 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 8:01 p.m. A caller reported that four friends had gotten their boat stuck in the mud in Deep River.

September 15 — 6:03 a.m. A caller reported that the ferry was down. It was returned to service 40 minutes later. 7:52 a.m. A caller reported the theft of a skiff in the Skamokawa area. 9:13 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 9:23 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident with low blood pressure. 11:06 a.m. A caller reported a one vehicle accident. There was damage to the vehicle but no injuries. 12:40 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported the violation of a no contact order. 1:16 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who was repeatedly losing consciousness. 1:48 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a Rosedale resident. 4:03 p.m. A caller reported that there were trees down on an Elochoman Valley road. The County Road department was contacted. 5:26 p.m. A caller reported an assault at a Rosedale residence. An individual was taken into custody. 6:51 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with complications due to diabetes. 7:37 p.m. A concerned motorist reported that he had witnessed the driver in front of him cross the center line, come back and then go up an embankment. The caller said he spoke to the driver who told him he had fallen asleep at the wheel. 8:15 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident with high blood pressure and chest pain. 8:37 p.m. A caller became concerned after hearing a quarrel at County Line Park. 11:55 p.m. A caller reported that a child was the subject of continuing bullying at a Cathlamet school.

September 16 — 8:47 a.m. A Puget Island resident was concerned that a neighbor’s dogs had killed a fawn. The dogs were lingering by the body. A deputy investigated and discovered that the deer had been struck by a car. 12:10 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 7:13 p.m. A Rosedale resident found a large unknown dog on his porch. A deputy investigated and found no dogs on the porch or in the area. 8:32 p.m. A caller reported a deceased deer on SR 4 just west of County Line Park.

September 17 — 7:43 a.m. A caller reported that trash had been dumped on top of the dumpster at the KM transfer station. 3:07 p.m. A caller reported a tree down on an east county road. The County Road department was notified. 6:57 p.m. A caller reported that a man with a crossbow was hunting near Rosedale homes.

September 18 — 11:45 a.m. An east county resident reported that a political sign had been stolen. 3:35 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Alger Creek resident who had been stung several times. 4:55 p.m. A caller reported two reckless motorcyclists on SR 4 in the Flandersville area. 7:23 p.m. A caller reported that a fight involving an attempted stabbing was in progress at a Rosedale home. An individual was taken into custody. 9:10 p.m. A caller reported that he had struck a deer on SR 4 just west of County Line Park. The vehicle was damaged. 9:39 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that two guns had been stolen.
