Betty L. Wood, 85, former longtime resident of Longview, died September 24, 2016 at her home in Vancouver, surrounded by her family.

Betty was born on May 7, 1931 in North Dakota. In 1954, Betty moved to Long-view and married Puget Island resident Charles ‘Fred' Wood on January 18, 1955 where they made their home until 1962. Betty and Fred moved to Longview where they lived and raised their three children until 1995, moving at retirement to Benson Lake in Grapeview. Betty is survived by her three children, Gayle Fletcher (Mike), Bruce Wood, Janelle Mader (Robert), seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, sister Dorothy Fornshell, brothers Leo and Tom Fornshell and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life is planned for Thursday, September 29 from 2:00-4:00 p.m., at 4 Mulberry Court (a private residence) in Longview. In lieu of flowers, Betty's wishes were that any memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
