Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

September 26 — 4:15 p.m. A door alarm was activated at a school in Cathlamet. 8:19 p.m. A caller reported that a Rosburg area juvenile had run away. She returned at 4:04 a.m. 11:42 p.m. A caller complained about a reckless driver who had harassed her on her way home.

September 27 — 4:50 a.m. A caller reported that a tree was down on a Skamokawa road. The County Road department was notified. 9:39 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that he had been a victim of a scam. 10:28 a.m. A Skamokawa resident requested assistance after getting locked out of a running car. 12:15 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported two trespassers. 5:40 p.m. A Grays River resident complained that the county had crossed an easement to spray some property. A deputy spoke with the caller.

September 28 — 11:52 a.m. A wallet was found in a Cathlamet park. 12:55 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a Skamokawa resident who had recently been involved in a domestic disturbance. 1:39 p.m. A welfare check was requested on a Grays River student who had not been in school for eight days. 3:38 p.m. A Grays River resident reported property damage and was informed that it was a civil issue.

September 29 — 9:08 a.m. A Puget Island resident was the victim of identity theft. 11:46 a.m. A caller reported a speeding motorcyclist on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 4:39 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to a report of a water leak in the Rosedale area. 5:03 p.m. The District 4 Fire Department responded to the report of a large controlled burn in the Rosedale area. 7:47 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department, the Skamokawa ambulance and the Cathlamet ambulance responded when a person fell at a Skamokawa restaurant. 8:46 p.m. A caller reported a one vehicle accident near Nassa Point. No one was injured.

September 30 — 4:57 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a Puget Island resident. 5:25 p.m. A caller reported that her son had been assaulted at a Cathlamet school earlier that day. 7:22 p.m. A caller reported rocks on a Deep River road.

October 1 — 3:03 a.m. An individual was taken into custody on a California warrant. 9:47 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that someone had been calling over and over again. It was a scam. The caller was advised to report it to the Federal Trade Commission. 10:12 a.m. A caller reported a deer in the ditch of an Elochoman Valley road. 12:29 p.m. The Puget Island Fire Department responded when a Puget Island resident reported that they had no water. The PUD was notified. 3:51 p.m. A caller reported a cow on a Grays River road. 3:35 p.m. An ATV driver was escorted off of SR 4 and given a warning. 8:17 p.m. Deputies and the District 4 Fire Department responded to the report of a brush fire in Cathlamet. 11:48 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was having respiratory issues.

October 2 — 4:55 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Alger Creek resident with chest pain. 12:43 p.m. Several individuals were advised not to hunt in the boat launch and camping area in Deep River. 4:55 p.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle on a Deep River road. 5:13 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. 11:53 p.m. A caller reported the possible sighting of a wanted individual.

October 3 — 12:20 a.m. A Puget island resident reported hearing a woman screaming nearby. 1:50 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was having a seizure.
