A Veterans’ Day Assembly will be held in the gymnasium at Naselle-Grays River Valley School at 12:30 p.m on November 10.

The assembly is an opportunity for students and staff to honor all veterans and present military personnel. It also represents an opportunity for students to learn about the sacrifices made by veterans and present day military personnel and how those sacrifices have helped to keep freedom alive for Americans and others.

All military personnel and veterans are invited to attend the assembly. Community members wishing to join with students in recognizing these veterans and members of the military are equally welcome to attend.

At the request of veterans, the timing of this year’s assembly was arranged to facilitate attendance by veterans, military personnel and community members who also wish to attend the veterans’ recognition event at Wahkiakum School in Cathlamet earlier in the day.

This is always a meaningful assembly for all in attendance. Veterans leave with even greater pride in their military service. Students and members of the community leave with a greater understanding and appreciation of that service.
