Sheriff's Report, November 3, 2016

 

November 3, 2016



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

October 24 — 7:46 a.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked on a road in the Rosedale area. 7:49 a.m. An individual was taken into custody after firing over the heads of forest workers in the Skamokawa area. 10:14 a.m. A caller reported that some cows were loose and grazing alongside SR 4 west of Skamokawa. 12:46 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that she had been attacked by two dogs the day before. 3:47 p.m. An individual in Cathlamet violated a protection order. 5:29 p.m. A Puget Island property owner reported that people had been driving on his land without permission. Further investigation revealed that the land was for sale and the trespassers were potential buyers who had spoken with a local realtor about the property.


October 25 — 1:42 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that he had been assaulted by his girlfriend’s son. A deputy made contact. No further action was taken when it was discovered that the two had exchanged blows and there were no injuries. 3:56 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had pain in his chest and left arm. Life Flight was activated. 9:50 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a prowler on a skateboard.

October 26 — 1:52 a.m. A Rosedale resident called after hearing a loud crash outside his home. He asked if a deputy would check on the home next door as well, as his neighbor was out of town. 9:22 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Grays River resident who was unresponsive. She had complained of headaches and leg pain and had been unwilling to take medication for an infection. 10:04 a.m. A deputy responded to the high school in Cathlamet because a student had assaulted someone and was “out of control.” 12:21 p.m. A caller reported that a car had broken down on SR 4 in Skamokawa. A tow had been called, and the vehicle was moved off the roadway while they waited. 5:36 p.m. A caller reported a possible drunk driver in the Rosedale area. 9:29 p.m. A call came in from the Deep River area, but the caller hung up. Dispatch called back and talked to the resident. She had been assaulted by her husband and was upset, but didn’t want help.


October 27 — 3:22 p.m. An alarm was activated at a residence on the east side of the county. 4:30 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident with high blood pressure. 7:42 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a Grays River residence after the report of a fall.

October 28 — 9:57 a.m. A caller reported that he had struck a deer on a Deep River road. The deer was deceased and he was advised to fill out an accident report regarding the damage to his vehicle. 10:19 a.m. A caller asked to talk to a deputy about a possible problem with a family member. 11:22 a.m. A caller reported a brush fire in the Grays River area. 1:20 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Cathlamet school to aid an individual complaining of a bad headache and shakiness.

October 29 — 11:25 a.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded when a tractor hit a high voltage box in the Elochoman Valley area. The PUD was notified. 11:36 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosedale residence. 6:28 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver on SR 4 just west of County Line Park. The driver was stopped and given a warning. 11:13 p.m. A caller reported that shots had been fired in the Elochoman Valley area.

October 30 — 3:51 a.m. Cowlitz County requested assistance for a structure fire on Germany Creek Road. 2:49 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident who had fallen off a roof.
