School districts' water tests have good results

December 22, 2016

The water at two local schools was found to be fine after being sampled and tested at ALS Environmental in Kelso earlier in 2016.

The Naselle/Grays River Valley School District delivered four samples to ALS in April. The samples were taken from the elementary, middle school, and high school water fountains, as well as from a source in the music room.

According to a letter from ALS Environmental in May, the samples fell well below current National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program standards for copper and lead at N/GRVS.

The Wahkiakum School District delivered samples to ALS Environmental in June. The samples were taken from 10 different points around the school, including the grade school staff kitchen, the grade school kitchen, the southwest hall drinking fountain, the drinking fountain in Room 9, the middle school drinking fountain, two drinking fountains at the high school, the high school staff kitchen, the VoAg room kitchen, and the nurse’s office.

The samples from WSD were found to be well below current standards as well.
