Terry Irving, 75, of Royal Oaks, Calif., died on November 29, 2016. Terry was born in Portland, Ore., on January 21, 1941 to Roy and Esther Irving and raised on the family farm in Cathlamet. He graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1959 and received a degree in Electronics from LCC in 1961.

Terry enlisted in the Army in 1962 and spent three years and eight months as a radar technician. He married Juanita Chase on June 23, 1962. After the military he and Juanita settled in Seattle where he worked for Boeing until returning to Cathlamet in 1968 when he went to work for US West Communications. He retired in 1990 as an ad engineer.

He enjoyed trail riding with Juanita and was a member of Backcountry Horseman, the Wahkiakum Planning Commission and Telephone Pioneers of America. In 2015 Terry and Juanita moved to California to be near their family.

Terry is survived by his wife Juanita Chase Irving, a son Raymond Irving and a daughter, Rhonda Heiner as well as two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 11:00 a.m., at Dowling Chapel in Cathlamet. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
