Sheriff's Report, January 19, 2017

 

January 19, 2017



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past two weeks, including:

January 9 — 1:48 p.m. A vehicle blocked all lanes of traffic at the KM summit on SR 4 after a spin out. 2:24 p.m. A caller reported that a juvenile had been sexually assaulted. 4:04 p.m. A caller reported that the windows of two abandoned vehicles parked by the bridge in the Elochoman Valley had been broken. 10:07 p.m. A caller witnessed a youth being assaulted by an older individual on school grounds in Cathlamet.

January 10 — 9:46 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident with chest pain. 10:09 a.m. An individual was taken into custody after a vehicle stop in the Rosedale area. 11:18 a.m. A caller reported that a driver had backed his vehicle into a sign in a Cathlamet parking lot. 4:08 p.m. An assault was reported at a park in Skamokawa. 4:10 p.m. Suspicious activity was reported at a Deep River home. 7:29 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident with high blood pressure.

January 11 — 12:39 a.m. A caller was concerned about branches in the roadway on SR 4 just west of County Line Park. 11:59 a.m. A caller reported that a parked car had been blocking a fire hydrant at a Skamokawa boat launch for several days. The owner was contacted. 3:42 p.m. A caller reported a missing person. 5:04 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that an unwanted individual was pounding on the door and would not leave. 5:14 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual in Skamokawa after an overdose. 5:48 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that someone had turned off the water to his home. He thought that maybe it had something to do with the freeze, but his son discovered that someone had actually turned it off. 6:01 p.m. Child abuse was reported at a Deep River home. 8:08 p.m. A Rosedale resident requested a deputy when he found an unknown vehicle parked in his driveway. They discovered it belonged to a neighbor. 11:38 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Skamokawa resident.

January 12 — 5:16 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Grays River resident. 9:29 a.m. A caller reported that a tree was down and blocking the westbound lanes of SR 4 near County Line Park. 3:47 p.m. A caller asked for assistance when his wife and child got stuck in a vehicle at the bottom of their driveway on Beaver Creek. There were no injuries. 5:02 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on children that may have been left alone at a Puget Island home. Child Protective Services responded and took the children into their custody. 8:23 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who’d had an allergic reaction. The resident refused transport.

January 13 — 8:04 a.m. A caller requested a tow after an accident in the Elochoman Valley. There were no injuries reported. 9:30 a.m. A caller reported that her dogs had been attacked by the neighbor’s dogs in the Cathlamet area. 9:51 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual who had been bitten by a dog. 10:25 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that someone had driven into his yard. 1:09 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with a blood sugar problem. 4:01 p.m. The sheriff’s office was asked to assist when the state patrol pulled over a drunk driver on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area.

January 14 — 5:50 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Grays River resident who was very ill. 1:56 p.m. A power outage was reported at a Skamokawa home. The PUD was notified. 5:28 p.m. A caller reported that a deer had been struck and remained in the westbound lane of SR 4 in the Alger Creek area. 6:01 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Cathlamet resident.

January 15 — 9:03 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported a vehicle prowl. 10:05 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Skamokawa resident who had suffered a heart attack. Life Flight was activated. 3:04 p.m. A caller reported that a man appeared to be in need of assistance after his truck had broken down on SR 4 in the Cathlamet area. 6:01 p.m. An individual fled on foot after a vehicle stop at a Rosedale business. The deputy was able to run him down and threaten him with a taser before he was taken into custody. The deputy injured his hand during the incident and the Cathlamet ambulance transported him to the hospital in Longview.

January 16 — 6:27 a.m. A burglary was reported at an Elochoman Valley home.
