Loggers, Mountaineers hand losses to Mules

The Wahkiakum Mules boys basketball team lost a game at home and another on the road this week to bring their league record to 2-9 and 5-10 overall.

Last Wednesday, January 18, the Mules lost to a big, physical Napavine team on the road, 42-71.

Hank Ferguson led the team with 13 points. Luke Brown scored 10 points. Evan Quigley and K.C. Beery had five points apiece. James Anderson, Isaac Moon, and Santos Wright added three points each.

On Friday, the Mules faced Adna at home and lost 32-69.

Ferguson scored 11 to lead the team. Anderson had 10 points. Quigley and Brown added four points apiece, while eighth grader Logan LaBerge made his varsity debut hitting a three point shot in the fourth quarter.

The Mules traveled to Winlock on Wednesday. The score was not available by press time. The Mules host Toledo on Friday.
