Sheriff's Report, February 2, 2017

 

February 2, 2017



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past two weeks, including:

January 23 — 12:34 p.m. A caller reported that a juvenile was “out of control” at a Rosedale home. 6:20 p.m. A caller reported a burglary at a Puget Island home.

January 24 — 8:31 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Skamokawa resident who had an allergic reaction. 9:09 a.m. A Rosedale resident requested assistance after getting locked out of a vehicle while the engine was running. 10:59 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported a missing firearm. He wasn’t sure if he had misplaced it or if someone had stolen it. 2:40 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported a missing person. 4:51 p.m. A caller reported that a juvenile was going door to door asking for money in the Elochoman Valley. 6:34 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to a Rosburg home when they reported low water pressure and a broken standpipe. The PUD was notified.

January 25 — 9:49 a.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a child at an Elochoman Valley home because he had not been attending school. A deputy contacted the parent and found the child at home. The parent said that she did not know where he had been the day before. 12:27 p.m. A theft was reported at a Rosedale business. 2:44 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a Puget Island resident who had not shown up for work in the last couple weeks. A deputy was unable to make contact. 2:48 p.m. A caller reported three cows in a Rosburg roadway. The owner was contacted. 5:35 p.m. A caller reported that a driver passed a school bus illegally. 7:13 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Greenwood Rd. home.

January 26 — 6:41 a.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle outside his Rosedale home. A deputy discovered that the men in the vehicle were waiting for materials to be delivered to begin work nearby. 1:53 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a Rosedale resident. 2:48 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that an individual was repeatedly violating a restraining order. 5:48 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that she had spoken with DirecTV after three young men came to her door dressed in company clothes, promising a lower bill in exchange for money. The company said they would never do business door to door. 10:23 p.m. A caller reported that she had just gotten an email from a person who was served a restraining order that day.

January 27 — 9:22 a.m. An individual was taken into custody for violating a restraining order. 10:03 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident assaulted a family member. He was taken into custody. 12:47 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided an ailing Rosburg resident. 2:57 p.m. A caller reported seeing an individual shooting from his vehicle on Puget Island.

January 28 — 6:11 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet man who was bleeding. 10:53 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident was concerned that a family member with dementia had taken their car. 11:36 a.m. A caller reported an assault at a Deep River home. 2:13 p.m. A caller reported a burglary at the shop at Skamokawa Vista Park. 3:23 p.m. A Grays River resident reported that his neighbor was trespassing on his property and cutting firewood. 8:04 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Grays River resident who had cut his finger. 10:20 p.m. A caller reported seeing someone wandering around a recently sold Puget Island home with a flashlight. A deputy investigated and found everything secure. 11:40 p.m. A Rosedale resident complained about noisy neighbors.

January 29 — 11:37 a.m. The Grays River ambulance and deputies responded when a juvenile was seen harming herself in the Grays River area; responders made contact. 11:49 a.m. A caller reported a hostile juvenile at a Rosburg home. He was taken into custody. The Grays River ambulance also responded. 12:41 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported that a neighbor’s pig was in his yard. 12:50 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an unconscious Rosedale resident. 2:34 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported online fraud. 6:54 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that his neighbors were putting up pipes and running water across his property without permission. 7:49 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided an ailing Deep River resident. 10:12 p.m. An individual in Cathlamet who wanted to harm himself requested transport to the hospital.
