Lady Mules win quarterfinal game; face Kalama on Friday

One down, two to go! The Lady Mules beat the number one ranked Dayton Bulldogs, 71-51, in the quarterfinals of the State 2B Tournament in Spokane on Thursday night.

"I thought the girls played awesome," Coach Rob Garrett said. "I was really happy with them tonight. If basketball is not going to be fun then why play the game? And that's exactly what we did tonight, have an absolute blast! They shared the ball well and sacrificed their bodies for the team. It was a great way to get things started."

Peyton Souvenir scored 29 points, hitting six shots from three point range. Savannah Burdick had 11. Macie Elliott added 10. Ellie Leitz had eight points. Sydney Hansen and Charlie Ashe added five points each. Paige Mace scored two and Mckensi Fluckiger added one more.

The Lady Mules will face Kalama at 9 p.m. on Friday night in the semifinals. The Chinooks are the only team to beat the Lady Mules this year.
