Down River Dispatches
Okay. I love the rain, probably more than anyone else around here, but when I see how difficult it is on the newborn calves getting around in the muddy pastures, covered from head to toe in muck, that’s enough rain.
Is everyone ready for the "wearin’ o’ the green”? Here’s to a Happy St. Patrick’s Day for all the readers.

While you are out doing your weekly shopping, why not toss in a few extra dry goods, canned meats, veggies or fruits, etc. and bag it separately to donate to our local West End Food Pantry located in the Grays River Valley Center in Johnson Park. The need never ends for wholesome food for someone a little less fortunate than you, and our food pantry is definitely filling a need.
Donations can be made at the Food Pantry in Johnson Park on Thursdays from 1-5 p.m. Cash donations can be mailed to PO Box 55, Rosburg, WA 98643 or dropped off at the food pantry when it is open. A tax deductible receipt will be mailed to you.
The Rosburg Wednesday Senior Lunch Bunch meets each week in the Rosburg Hall with friends and neighbors for a wholesome, home cooked meal prepared and served by Pat Potter and her volunteer crew.
On Thursdays a senior meal is also served in the Rosburg Hall and is sponsored by CAP. Lunch is served at noon for both venues.
Happy Birthday to Caitlin Smith, Steve Forbes, Chloe Zimmerman, Savanna Zimmerman, Kathy Saari and Alyssa Steenerson. Wishing each of you a perfect day of celebration.
I will be flying to southern California this weekend for a couple of weeks with family and maybe even some sunshine. My nephew and niece will be taking me to the NASCAR race in Fontana on the 26th, and I will return the following week. Since I won’t be taking my computer with me, there will be no Down River Dispatches for the next two weeks.
March 23rd would have been our 50th wedding anniversary, and my family thought it would be a good time for a little trip. I wasn’t too keen on the idea, but I’m sure not being here alone, but with some family will make another milestone easier to cross over.
I understand that the desert blooms are really spectacular this year, so will try and get some photos to share. Happy St. Patrick"s Day.
