Local Democrats to host a forum

Wednesday, May 10 from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Skamokawa Grange

The Wahkiakum County Democrats will host a public policy forum, “Common Ground for the Common Good” on Wednesday, May 10 from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Skamokawa Grange.

The town hall style meeting will feature remarks by Teresa Purcell about what current policy decisions at the national level will mean for Wahkiakum County residents, followed by break out sessions and audience participation.

Purcell has consulted, coached and collaborated

on over 210 political, issue, public education and advocacy campaigns throughout the USA, both at a national level and in 34 states. She was the campaign manager for Patty Murray's first senate race in 1992, and in 2016 very narrowly lost a bid for the Washington State Legislature, 19th district. Teresa was born and raised in Longview.

The goal of the forum is to bring local citizens together to discuss and identify the important issues and values we expect our legislators to represent. All concerned citizens are welcome to attend.
