Mary Clark

August 3, 2017

Mary E. Clark, 97, formerly of Cathlamet, died at her residence at the Delaware Plaza, Longview, on July 9, 2017. Mary was born October 13, 1919, in Coffeyville, Kansas. She moved to Alaska when it was still a territory and lived there for more than 20 years. She worked in business as a clerk/bookkeeper in both Alaska and Washington. In retirement, she lived in Astoria, Ore., before moving to Cathlamet in 2007, where she resided at the Columbia View Nursing Home until its closure in 2012. She then relocated to the Delaware Plaza.

Mary was a kind and gracious woman who always had a smile on her face. She loved her time at Columbia View and she was extremely grateful for the care she received there; she considered the members of the staff to be her family. Mary was a devout Roman Catholic and she enjoyed attending Mass at St. Catherine Church in Cathlamet and St. Rose Church in Longview. And, she greatly appreciated the weekly visits from the St. Rose homebound ministers. The Funeral Mass for Mary was celebrated at St. Catherine Church on July 13, 2017, with Father Bryan Ochs officiating. She was buried at Prairie Cemetery in Knappa, Ore.
