Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

October 2 — 8:52 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that a driver had blocked a road, followed him home, and then returned to the road to block it again. 10:26 a.m. A caller reported a speeding driver repeatedly going up and down a Deep River road. 11:01 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Skamokawa address. 11:06 a.m. A caller reported that a piece of equipment had been taken after an auction in Rosburg. The item had not been up for bid. 6:06 p.m. A Grays River resident asked for assistance when an angry ex-boyfriend showed up at her home.

October 3 — 4:18 a.m. An alarm was activated at the Wahkiakum School District bus barn. A responsible party was contacted. He investigated and found nothing amiss. 12:31 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded when a caller reported that a person sitting outside on the steps of his Rosedale home was dehydrated and vomiting. 12:38 p.m. Deputies and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a threat of suicide in Cathlamet. 12:54 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a patient who was complaining of abdominal pain at the clinic in Cathlamet to the hospital. 3:10 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient with a rapid heart rate to the hospital. 5:41 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosburg home.

October 4 — 4:54 p.m. A caller reported that a cow was loose on the refuge road.

October 5 — 10:08 a.m. A caller reported that a ring had been stolen from a purse left in a vehicle parked in Cathlamet. 1:56 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident who had suffered a seizure. 7:58 p.m. A caller reported that a man was standing in a Cathlamet road yelling at speeding drivers after his cat had been hit. 10:20 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle was partially blocking the westbound lane of SR 4 near Nassa Point.

October 6 — 11:05 a.m. A Puget Island resident found a chain hoist in his yard and was concerned that it may have been stolen. 1:33 pm. A caller reported that a sail boat appeared to be unoccupied and adrift in the Columbia River, just west of Puget Island. 3:45 p.m. A caller reported two dogs missing from a home west of Skamokawa. 5:05 p.m. An Alger Creek resident reported that mail had been stolen from his mail box. 5:49 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had broken down and was partially blocking a lane on SR 4 west of County Line Park. 6:38 p.m. A caller reported that a sail boat had run aground at the mouth of a slough on Puget Island. The Coast Guard was contacted. 7:30 p.m. A caller reported a man in the middle of a Cathlamet street taking pictures of the people driving past him. 7:35 p.m. A caller reported that an individual was screaming outside a Cathlamet home. The mental health department was contacted, but the individual refused help. He was advised to stop.

October 7 — 3:50 a.m. A caller reported a fight at a Rosedale home. 10:27 a.m. A caller complained about a scissor lift “taking up two thirds of roadway” just west of County Line Park. 11:43 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance visited an ailing Cathlamet resident. The individual refused transport. 12:39 p.m. A caller reported that cows were loose on a Puget Island road. The owner was contacted. 9:25 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had stalled on SR 4 in the Flandersville area. 11:20 p.m. A caller reported that drivers had been racing on a Deep River road.

October 8 — 1:37 a.m. A caller reported that one lane of a Puget Island road was blocked by a fallen tree. 2:28 p.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle on a Deep River road. 5:11 p.m. A caller reported hearing shots fired in Alger Creek.
