Election 2017--Tim Haataia, N/GRVSD school board

October 19, 2017

Naselle resident Tim Haataia is one of two candidates vying for the Naselle Grays River Valley School Board Position 4.

Haataia began his education in the NGRV district and graduated in 1992. He earned an associated degree in applied arts and science, as well as a GM degree in automotive mechanics from Shoreline College.

He achieved master technician status while working at Clyde Revord Motors in Everett from 1994-2001, but returned to Naselle to start a family with his wife, Amber, who he married in 1999. He started a commercial fishing business, which he has owned and operated for the last 15 years.

The Haataias have four children.

“I decided to run for school board to be more involved with the school, community, and students,” Haataia wrote in an email. “I would like to be involved with the future decisions of Naselle school district, where I was born and raised. I know what a great school it is, for the kids and this community. I like to see our athletic programs grow, along with keeping our kids academics our top priority.”

Haataia stated that he had no special agenda, he just looks forward to helping the school district.
